Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (Fantastic Beasts The Original Screenplay #2) - J.K. Row

Book Synopsis: At the end of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald was captured in New York with the help of Newt Scamander. But, making good on his threat, Grindelwald escapes custody and sets about gathering followers, most unsuspecting of his true agenda: to raise pure-blood wizards up to rule over all non-magical beings.

In an effort to thwart Grindelwald’s plans, Albus Dumbledore enlists Newt, his former Hogwarts student, who agrees to help once again, unaware of the dangers that lie ahead. Lines are drawn as love and loyalty are tested, even among the truest friends and family, in an increasingly divided wizarding world. This second original screenplay from J.K. Rowling, illustrated with stunning line art from MinaLima, expands on earlier events that helped shaped the wizarding world, with some surprising nods to the Harry Potter stories that will delight fans of both the books and films.

So upset that I haven't watched the second movie yet. Honestly, I'm super pumped to finally get around to watching it this weekend. I'll be posting an update to this review once I see the movie, but for now, we have to make do.

Being a fan of Harry Potter is probably something all of my generation knows and loves. Even if you're not a fan of Harry Potter or magic, you're missing out on this series, and you'll probably enjoy it.

Interesting to me is that all of these names and characters, I wonder where Jo got the knowledge and ideas to craft and create this world.

I've read all of the Harry Potter books and also I have watched the movies, funnily enough, I haven't read the first book in the series of Fantastic Beasts, but I will soon. The reason that I picked this book up first is because I wanted to see the film after I read the screen-play.

Let's talk about the artwork, can't explain exactly every drawing, but I think that the illustrations were masterful and very well drawn out. I thought it added an extra feature to the storyline and made the experience even more magical.

How long did I do my waiting in Azkaban?! 12 years of it! It's been years since the latest release of a Harry Potter book until the illustrated editions came out. Now she's back with a whole new series that takes place years before the actual story of Harry Potter.

Excited does not even begin to describe my feelings and emotions that I had while reading this short book. Never have I felt so many different feelings or had various reactions and nostalgia. At times, I was frustrated, others I laughed, and I was too busy fangirling to be shocked or surprised by anything - I loved every minute of it.

Hogwarts always calls you home and that definitely rang true.

Nothing was wrong with the book, except for the fact that it ended on a spoiler alert... cliff hanger. Kind of disappointing that I have to wait for the next book to come out, but very excited to find out what's to come. J.K. Rowling is obviously not done yet with the Harry Potter universe and I believe that fans everywhere are anxiously awaiting what's to come movie-wise and book-wise too.

Rating: ★★★★★ 5/5 Stars!
