Shopaholic And Baby (Shopaholic # 5) - Sophie Kinsella
Book Synopsis: Becky Brandon (nee Bloomwood) is pregnant! She couldn't be more overjoyed-especially since discovering that shopping cures morning sickness. Everything has got to be perfect for her baby: from the designer nursery . . . to the latest, coolest pram . . . to the celebrity, must-have obstetrician.
But when the celebrity obstetrician turns out to be her husband Luke's glamorous, intellectual ex-girlfriend, Becky's perfect world starts to crumble. She's shopping for two . . . but are there three in her marriage?
After a whirlwind of a honeymoon, and the shocking news of a long lost half sister, Becky Brandon is ready for anything... nothing can bring her down...
Even with the arrival of her and Luke's first baby, everything seems perfect. So what better way to celebrate than by looking to buy a house on the market, and shop for the essentials that the baby will "need". Of course, the most important thing is the baby and who is going to help deliver the bundle of joy.
Side note, this is not a spoiler, but based on the synopsis: Venetia Carter is crazy, like certifiably insane! The reason that I didn't really warm up to this book like the others in the series is because so far, I have been able to excuse the behavior of Becky and focus my eye on the real problem in this book anyway.
It seems that Luke always has a delusional girl waiting to ruin the relationship and marriage between him and Becky. That's probably what bothered me the most, but it did make for a good story for the most part.
Hands down, my favorite character will always be Suze, she's very likely the best person in the entire series. She is sweet and considerate, and really brings out the best in people, especially her BFF Becky.
Well? What are you waiting for? Pick the series up today!
