So Much Closer - Susane Colasanti
Book Synopsis: When Brooke's crush, Scott, moves from their suburban town to New York City, she decides to follow him there. Living with her formerly estranged dad and adapting to a new school are challenging, and things go from bad to worse when Brooke learns that Scott already has a girlfriend. But as she builds her new life, Brooke begins to discover a side of herself she never knew existed. And as she finds out, in the city that never sleeps, love can appear around any corner...
This book was all kinds of cute.
I was never a big fan of Scott and I can give you three reasons why.
Not A Fan Of Scott:
1) He's too into himself.
2) He was terrible to Brooke.
3) He got in the way of the true love interest of the story.
When authors include a cameo of a main character from one of their previous books, it's pure magic.
Rhiannon from Take Me There gets a brief encounter with Brooke and although I didn't like that book that much, I was happy to see that So Much Closer was a million times better.
The origami cranes on each page were a nice touch and it tied into Brooke's obsession with paper folding.
If I had to pick, the best part about this book was that it didn't end with a kiss, and I was eternally grateful. Not all romance books are what you would expect them to be.
