Wanderlost - Jen Malone

Book Synopsis: Not all those who wander are lost, but Aubree Sadler most definitely is on this novel’s whirlwind trip through Europe. Aubree can’t think of a better place to be than in perfectly boring Ohio, and she’s ready for a relaxing summer. But when her older sister, Elizabeth, gets into real trouble, Aubree is talked into taking over Elizabeth’s summer job, leading a group of senior citizens on a bus tour through Europe. Aubree doesn’t even make it to the first stop in Amsterdam before their perfect plan unravels, leaving her with no phone, no carefully prepared binder full of helpful facts, and an unexpected guest: the tour company owner’s son, Sam. Considering she’s pretending to be Elizabeth, she absolutely shouldn’t fall for him, but she can’t help it, especially with the most romantic European cities as the backdrop for their love story. But her relationship with Sam is threatening to ruin her relationship with her sister, and she feels like she’s letting both of them down. Aubree knows this trip may show her who she really is—she just hopes she likes where she ends up.

I found this book through Instagram, a few of the accounts that I follow had it on their posts. It seems that I always use that app for the sole purpose of finding books to add to my TBR shelf.

Mr. Fenton reminded me of Mr. Feeney from Boy Meets World.

Let's evaluate: old guy - check and former teacher - check. Maybe Jen Malone was a fan of that '90's show, but it didn't matter where she got her inspiration for that though because I feel that it added a throw-back feature to the book. Also, did anyone else get the Lizzie McGuire movie vibes? Well, minus the famous pop-star and sketchy guy, it was one of those books that I easily breezed through.

Sister swap gone right? Definitely. Aubree and Sam are so cute together, I liked that the author didn't try to force the relationship or make the book too awkward or cliche.

Elizabeth was a jerk, I'm thankful that I don't have an older sister and that I'm the older sister. You can pretty much say that Elizabeth's foolishness and immature mistake in the beginning brought Aubree and Sam together, but it doesn't excuse Elizabeth's crack-pot plan and bad behavior.

The cute summer reads can keep on coming, and although it's the first day of the month and the last month of summer, there's still time for you to grab a book and quench your craving for a good novel.
