Every Last Promise - Kristin Halbrook

Book Synopsis: Kayla saw something at the party that she wasn't supposed to. But she hasn't told anyone. No one knows the real story about what happened that night—about why Kayla was driving the car that ran into a ditch after the party, about what she saw in the hours leading up to the accident, and about the promise she made to her friend Bean before she left for the summer. Now Kayla's coming home for her senior year. If Kayla keeps quiet, she might be able to get her old life back. If she tells the truth, she risks losing everything—and everyone—she ever cared about.

Too intense, too quick-paced, and I found this book while browsing the if you liked this book section, then read this. The subject was difficult to cover and relate well to the audience. Not a great book, but since this is the first time that I'm reading a novel by this author, I'm not going to be too harsh.

Kayla was too much of a pushover, and she should've been honest right from the get go, her friends treated her like a social pariah and then they welcomed her back with open arms on the next page, seriously confusing and not realistic at all.

Also, the story was reminiscent of a DCOM. For those of you who don't know, aka Disney Channel Original Movie.

I do appreciate what the author was trying to do, and the message that was conveyed was important and shouldn't be ignored, but it wasn't the best way to do that.
