Something Real (Something Real # 1) - Heather Demetrios

Book Synopsis: There’s nothing real about reality TV. Seventeen-year-old Bonnie™ Baker has grown up on TV—she and her twelve siblings are the stars of one-time hit reality show Baker’s Dozen. Since the show’s cancellation and the scandal surrounding it, Bonnie™ has tried to live a normal life, under the radar and out of the spotlight. But it’s about to fall apart…because Baker’s Dozen is going back on the air. Bonnie™’s mom and the show’s producers won’t let her quit and soon the life she has so carefully built for herself, with real friends (and maybe even a real boyfriend), is in danger of being destroyed by the show. Bonnie™ needs to do something drastic if her life is ever going to be her own—even if it means being more exposed than ever before.

Dear Hollywood,

Stop airing shows like Keeping Up With The Kardashians and start broadcasting the pilot episode for Something Real.

Sincerely,

Everyone with a bookish mind

Seriously, this book is worthy of a TV even movie series. The characters are something out of a dream. Beth Baker's Dozen reminded me a lot about the family in Cheaper By The Dozen, because, correct me if I'm wrong... but doesn't the Cheaper family have the last name Baker? Anyway, I don't know if the author didn't realize that she blatantly threw caution to the wind and just decided to plagiarize this whole idea, very similar fashion if you ask me. Just throw in some cameras and a film crew and voila, you've got yourself a book version of Cheaper By The Dozen.

Although, that didn't occur to me until well, now I guess. Bonnie™ Baker or Chloe - why isn't it, that her other siblings don't have to use a fake name at school? Very bizarre, if you ask me and the lack of explanation is mind-boggling.

I already have the sequel, The Lexie Project just waiting to be read on my phone, the app Wattpad is great! Yesterday I downloaded the app and so far so good, I definitely recommend the app and the book series. I'll be reading more of Heather's books in the near future.
