Fairest (The Lunar Chronicles # 3.5) - Marissa Meyer
Book Synopsis: In this stunning bridge book between Cress and Winter in the bestselling Lunar Chronicles, Queen Levana’s story is finally told. Mirror, mirror on the wall, Who is the fairest of them all? Fans of the Lunar Chronicles know Queen Levana as a ruler who uses her “glamour” to gain power. But long before she crossed paths with Cinder, Scarlet, and Cress, Levana lived a very different story – a story that has never been told . . . until now. Marissa Meyer spins yet another unforgettable tale about love and war, deceit and death. This extraordinary book includes full-color art and an excerpt from Winter, the next book in the Lunar Chronicles series.
This book actually made me feel pity for Queen Levana - something that I originally thought I would be incapable of doing. Usually, I never feel sympathy for the villain, until now. Don't get me wrong, I still have a great dislike for the Lunar Queen, but it was easy to see why she became so heartless and evil. Levana is probably the most manipulative person in the whole series, next to her older sister Channary (she was truly wicked). It bothered me that there were no chapters, but it was a thin book, so I guess it didn't really need to be divided in sections. Again, I'm nitpicking! The series is coming to a close, and I loved every minute of it. I can't wait to see how it will all end for Cinder and what will become of Queen Levana.
