Book Synopsis: "Hi, I'm the guy who reads your e-mail, and also, I love you . . . "

Beth Fremont and Jennifer Scribner-Snyder know that somebody is monitoring their work e-mail. (Everybody in the newsroom knows. It's company policy.) But they can't quite bring themselves to take it seriously. They go on sending each other endless and endlessly hilarious e-mails, discussing every aspect of their personal lives.

Meanwhile, Lincoln O'Neill can't believe this is his job now- reading other people's e-mail. When he applied to be "internet security officer," he pictured himself building firewalls and crushing hackers- not writing up a report every time a sports reporter forwards a dirty joke.

When Lincoln comes across Beth's and Jennifer's messages, he knows he should turn them in. But he can't help being entertained-and captivated-by their stories.

By the time Lincoln realizes he's falling for Beth, it's way too late to introduce himself.

What would he say . . .

This book was cute, a little bit vulgar, but nonetheless cute.

Imagine falling in love with someone who you've never actually seen before, but you don't realize until later that they are interested in you too. That's the plot of the whole book in a nutshell.

I didn't realize how old this book was until I started reading it, mentions of Y2K and 1999 made me realize that this book was in the '90s. Not to mention the emails, they were hilarious.

A lot of people say that this book isn't Rainbow Rowell's best and that it isn't their favorite novel of hers, and I have to say that I agree. I definitely enjoyed reading Fangirl much more, which is a true fan-favorite.

The email exchanges and the flash backs of Lincoln's life made the chapters really short. I admit that I did get a bit annoyed with the progression of the story because things were going so slow - like snail mail speed. To be honest, the only thing that kept me from giving this book a lower rating was that I thought the concept was unique for 2011.

If they ever make a movie adaptation, I think that James Corden would be perfect for the role of Lincoln. I'm not sure who I would cast for the roles of Beth and Jennifer, but for Emilie, I would cast Kristen Bell.

My recommendation, don't read Fangirl first because you'll read this book and say, wow, it wasn't nearly as good. If you enjoy reading books by Rainbow Rowell, be sure to pick this one up soon.
