Things We Know By Heart - Jessi Kirby

Book Synopsis: When Quinn Sullivan meets the recipient of her boyfriend’s donated heart, the two form an unexpected connection.

After Quinn loses her boyfriend, Trent, in an accident their junior year, she reaches out to the recipients of his donated organs in hopes of picking up the pieces of her now-unrecognizable life. She hears back from some of them, but the person who received Trent’s heart has remained silent. The essence of a person, she has always believed, is in the heart. If she finds Trent’s, then maybe she can have peace once and for all.

Risking everything in order to finally lay her memories to rest, Quinn goes outside the system to track down nineteen-year-old Colton Thomas—a guy whose life has been forever changed by this priceless gift. But what starts as an accidental run-in quickly develops into more, sparking an undeniable attraction. She doesn't want to give in to it—especially since he has no idea how they're connected—but their time together has made Quinn feel alive again. No matter how hard she’s falling for Colton, each beat of his heart reminds her of all she’s lost… and all that remains at stake.

Someone pass the tissues! This book was so adorable, cheesy, and sad. I felt real emotions for Quinn and the closure she got was incredible. Imagine going through something like losing your boyfriend, and being brave enough to track down the recipient of his heart. Although the plot was predictable, I enjoyed every moment of it.

I've read all of Jessi Kirby's books, starting with Moonglass. She is brilliant. I'll be reviewing the rest of her books sometime later.

The relationship between Colton and Quinn blossomed from heartache, and a little accident. My only critique is that I wanted to know more about Trent which I felt demanded more explanation and details. Beautiful writing, and gorgeous story, not to mention the dust jacket cover which really tied everything together.

100% I was rooting for Quinn, she is a very lovable main character and she did not annoy me, or have any strange little quirks. This novel truly shined.

This book teaches you not to run away from your problems, instead lets to brace yourself and push through to solve whatever you are going through. Some things we just know by heart, and with every page turn I wanted to know if Quinn was falling for Colton, or just falling in love again with her ex-boyfriend's heart.

Definitely read, and show your support for Jessi Kirby. Her writing style is wonderful and you won't regret reading any of her books.

It was a bit of a tear-jerker, but there were plenty of sweet moments and laughs to go around.

Have a little faith in love and pick this book up today. It will get your heart racing.
