The Risk Of Happiness: The Punk Rocker (The New York Artists Series #3) - Cathrine Goldstein

Book Synopsis: Bad boy punk rock star Reale Lynxx never expected to see his ex-girlfriend, Amanda Simmons, again. And after she'd stomped on his heart and walked out on him six years ago, he's not so sure he wants to. Certainly Reale never imagined he would rescue Amanda and her son, Johnny, from drowning. But all it takes is one evening with her and Reale is ready to leave the past behind and try again.

Amanda never meant to hurt Reale and happily jumps heart-first into rebuilding their relationship. But when she confesses she left him to secretly raise their son, Reale grows livid, fighting her and gaining custody of Johnny… When Reale realizes he was wrong for taking Johnny away, he tries to win Amanda back. But can she forgive the man who took her son? And can she ever trust Reale again, no matter how much she loves him?

Thank you to YA Bound Book Tours for allowing me to read and review this book.

I've never read anything from this author before and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. Fair warning, this book is for a more mature audience.

Onto the review...

Reale and Amanda's love story is something out of a modern day fairytale with a punk rock twist. I just loved the dynamic of their relationship and how sweet they are not just as a couple, but as parents too. Seeing how Reale interacted with his son Johnny was so adorable.

What I liked most about this book was that it felt semi realistic just like watching a Lifetime movie. Not only was this book about repairing broken relationships and reconnecting, it touched on the subject of forgiveness too.

It's not easy to let someone in again and The Risk Of Happiness was able to orchestrate that scenario perfectly.

This book definitely makes me want to read more from Cathrine Goldstein in the near future.
